- [Children First Child Protection Training](https://englisheducationireland.ie/events/children-first-child-protection-training-2/): According to the Children First: National Guidance for the Protection and Welfare of Children and the Children First Act 2015, school staff working with minors or vulnerable persons in a significant capacity due to their role within an organisation must complete Children First Child Protection training. English Education Ireland members can participate in Children First Child Protection training days delivered by Barnardos. There are two levels of training: Level 1 for all staff dealing with minors and Level 2, which is required for Designated Liason Persons (DLP). See course overview and outcomes here You must complete the Level 1 course before participating in the Level 2 DLP training. Persons who do not intend to progress to Level 2 DLP training with Barnardos could opt for the free training programme through TUSLA.
